24 Best Morgan Wallen Love Songs Of All Time

Best Morgan Wallen Love Songs Of All Time

There isn’t a shortage of Country and Western singers. Some we know, others we may never have heard of. If you are not familiar with Morgan Wallen, then I am going to have a look at some of his work. He has only released three albums and twelve singles, so let’s take a look at them and find the Best Morgan Wallen Love Songs Of All Time. Recognizing that the expression “all time” only refers to the last few years.

Born in Tennessee, he was schooled from a young age in both piano and violin. However, he had other things on his mind though during his younger years. He preferred to try and pursue a career in baseball. But, when that failed, he picked up a guitar.

Morgan had always been around Country music as he was growing up. Therefore, it wasn’t a surprise he gravitated in that direction once he had begun to get the guitar basics learned. In 2014, he was a contestant on “The Voice” but was eliminated quite early on. It did, however, give him some profile. And in 2016, he signed up with Big Loud Records and commenced his recording career.

Controversies

His short career thus far has not gone without its controversies. He has had some run-ins with the law over disorderly conduct and using racist language. As a result, he was suspended by his record label for his behavior, and his music was removed from prominent radio networks.

For some reason, that only seemed to increase his commercial success. But we are not here to discuss these things. Accepting they happened, let’s just move on to Morgan Wallen’s best love songs, shall we?

24 Best Morgan Wallen Love Songs Of All Time

1
The Way I Talk

Not all love songs are about people. This is a song where he is waxing lyrical about being proud of where he is from and the way he talks. It was his first single and, therefore, might be a way of introducing himself.

The track is taken from his debut album, If I Know Me, which reached #10 in America and #21 in Canada. While the single failed to make the main chart in America, it peaked at #35 on the Country Music chart.

2
Cover Me Up

This is a track taken from, Dangerous: The Double Album, released in 2019. “Cover Me Up” wasn’t released as a single, but the album did well, reaching #1 in America and Canada and #2 in Australia. It even managed to break into the Top 100 at #77 in the UK main chart.

It’s a cover of a song that was written by Jason Isbell, which he released as a single in 2013. Isbell’s version reached #52 on the American chart.

The song tells the story of a man who isn’t the nicest individual you will ever come across. But he realizes that he could become a better person if he met the right lady. A song where the lyrics are more important than the music.

3
Somebody’s Problem

Another track from the 2019 album, Dangerous: The Double Album. This is another track that was not released as a single. The lyrics are possibly not about an experience that everybody has. However, when you are in a relationship, it can often be hard to let go. Perhaps that is the message in this Morgan Wallen love song.

4
Sand In My Boots

Staying with the Dangerous: The Double Album this song was the first single released since 2021 after his music was reinstated after being banned from major radio stations. Something I have already mentioned.

The song reached #30 in America and #31 in Canada. This is a song about an experience most have when they are in their mid-teens rather than older.

A summer romance is something special at the time and for a short time after. But, its memory usually fades quite quickly as you take it for what it was. This song is about such an experience, albeit a little later in life.

5
Thought You Should Know

This is a song from his third album, One Thing At A Time. Again, it wasn’t released as a single and was only made available to stream through YouTube.

It is a song that is intended to comfort his mother, who has been worried about him. We can see why. He tries to allay her fears and concerns. Once again, lyrics laced with what some would see as obscenities that are unnecessary in the context of writing to your mother.

6
Whiskey Glasses

Released in 2018, this is a track taken from the first album, If I Know Me. It was written by Kevin Kadish and Ben Burgess. “Whiskey Glasses” reached #17 on the American chart and #44 in Canada. It is a lengthy tale about a man drowning his feelings in whiskey after losing his lady. “And see the world through whiskey glasses – Ain’t nothing else to do, but sip around the truth.”

7
Wasted On You

Back to the Dangerous: The Double Album again for this song. It reached #1 on the American chart and #10 in Canada, making it one of the most successful Morgan Wallen love songs. Once again, a song about losing a lady and burying his feelings in the drink. Seems to be an often-used theme in his songwriting.

He is not so much bemoaning the loss of the relationship but the waste of time it all was. That is a relevant point because we don’t have endless time on this earth. And no one knows how long it will go on. Spending a lot of time with someone only to see it all fall apart can be construed as a waste of that time.

“All them days I spent, wasted on you – Wasted on you.” Of course, the problem is while you are spending that time, you don’t know the outcome. It is best just to accept it as a possibility when the relationship starts.

8
7 Summers

Staying with the Dangerous: The Double Album once more for this track. It was released as a single in 2020 and reached #6 on the American chart and #7 in Canada.

This is a song about a man looking back over seven years in a relationship long gone. He is assuming she has now got married and wonders if she ever thinks about him anymore. It seems the relationship had a naive commitment, “And I know we both knew better – But we still said forever – And that was seven summers.”

But she went off to find something better. “I bet your daddy’s so proud – Of how his little girl turned out.” well-known Morgan Wallen love song that is sung with a certain sense of sarcasm.

9
Chasin’ You

Back once again to the first album, If I Know Me. This was the fourth single taken from that album and released in 2019. It reached #16 on the American chart and #44 in Canada.

A song about pursuing a lady who he wants to be with. He is constantly forging new relationships, but his thoughts always go back to her and where she might be. “You always used to talk about LA – I heard you got as far as Santa Fe.” But it seems he didn’t try that hard to find her, “I only got as far as guitar town.”

10
You Proof

Back now to 2022 and the album, One Thing At A Time. One of the most popular Morgan Wallen love songs, it reached #5 in America and #9 in Canada. This is another song about drowning your sorrows in a drink to forget someone.

“Hey, I’ve been mixing liquors tryin’ to get you gone – Aw, but I must be doing somethin’ wrong – Cause I’ve been working hard to fade your memory – Baby, but the only thing faded is me.” This was another track issued shortly after he was ‘indefinitely suspended’ by his record label for a racial slur.

11
More Than My Hometown

So, let’s finish this look at the best Morgan Wallen love songs of all time back where we started. In many ways, a track about his hometown. It is another track from Dangerous: The Double Album. Released in 2020, it reached #15 in America and #22 in Canada.

It is a song about a situation that I think he may have faced. Two people in a relationship living in a small town. They have been friends since they were young, and their families are also good friends.

She wants to leave and go to the big city to further her ambitions. However, he feels he doesn’t want to leave home. “But that ain’t you and me – So I guess I’ll see you around – Cause I can’t love you more – Than my hometown.” An interesting topic, and as I say, one many probably have faced.

Best Morgan Wallen Love Songs Of All Time – Final Thoughts

Having to choose from just three albums can always be problematic when you are talking about the “best” songs. And, it seems we have spent a lot of time with just one of three, Dangerous: The Double Album.

He is a Country singer that some will like and others will not. Country music, especially in Nashville, can be very conservative in its outlook. A character like Morgan Wallen might not fit in so easily with some. Having said that, he has a strong fan base and has seen plenty of success amid the controversies.

Until next time, happy listening.
